Irritation during sex?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I have vaginal burning during sex. I have had a pap test and the lab results show that I have no infection. The doctor told me that it was just an irritation. However, despite resting for a week, the rustling is still there. I use a water-based lubricant to make sex more comfortable, but I would like to heal this irritation once and for all. What can I do to relieve and heal my vaginal irritation? I already use a mixture of creams (hydrocortisone, canestin, etc) on my vulva.

Hello, thank you for your question!
I am reassured that a medical evaluation did not detect anything. In this light, there is no need to apply the products you mentioned. It could simply be that you have a more sensitive area, which is not necessarily a health condition
Using a lubricant is usually a very effective and safe solution in the long run. However, I would encourage you to use condoms that are not lubricated (provided you use a water-based lubricant as you do), scented or flavored, or with spermicide, as these can increase the risk of irritation.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
