I have had a sore throat for 2 days and today I have aches and pains all over my body and head.
Also, I started the citalopram 2 days ago and I have diarrhea since yesterday. I'm taking half a tablet a day for a week and will increase to 1 full tablet after that. Thank you for your help!

Hello,
Many medications are compatible with breastfeeding. Acetaminophen (Tylenol), anti-inflammatory drugs (Advil/ibuprofen or Aleeve/naproxen or Voltaren gel) and analgesic creams (Myoflex, antiphlogistine) are all compatible with breastfeeding. If you want to choose between the different options available, I recommend that you call your local pharmacy, which will be able to direct you.
Regarding your diarrhea, this can be caused by the citalopram, so it is best to take it in the middle of a meal. However, diarrhea can also be caused by the infection you are fighting. Indeed, it often happens that the stools have different consistencies when fighting a virus.
