I have been short of breath for a few weeks. I also have a persistent cough. Should I attribute this to methotrexate or fibrosis?

On methotrexate 15mg + plaquenil for 4 weeks for rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary fibrosis. I did a tx of prednisone 50mgx5days when I started the methotrexate because I was inflamed, and there is no change since.

Hello,
Did you have shortness of breath and cough before starting methotrexate? If these symptoms started during methotrexate treatment or have increased significantly, you should seek medical attention immediately, as methotrexate, in rare cases, can cause serious lung problems.
If instead the symptoms started before treatment and did not increase during methotrexate treatment, I would attribute the symptoms to pulmonary fibrosis. In such a case I would still advise you to consult your doctor in the short term, as your prednisone treatment did not work.
