Is Ulone syrup safe to use during pregnancy?

Hello, I have a cough that won't stop and I am pregnant. It prevents me from sleeping and I was wondering if the syrup "ulone" is safe with a pregnancy? I don't have any secretions in my nose (I'm doing sinus rinse already) i will try to relieve with lozenges! thank you for your time!

Hello Mrs., There is not enough information regarding the safety of the active ingredient in Ulone during pregnancy to advise it, especially considering that it has not been shown to be more effective than drinking liquids or even a teaspoon of honey. The best treatment remains nasal hygiene with a saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse, which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. It's a little uncomfortable but works extremely well to prevent secretions from running down the throat, which often causes coughing. I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot depending on your preference. If you have pain (throat or otherwise), Tylenol can be taken without any problem, as well as lozenges like Halls or Fisherman's Friend for local relief of throat irritation.
