Hello Madam, I am sorry to read about your troubles!
The basis of treatment will be nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Cleansing nasal secretions can reduce the backward flow of nasal secretions, which often causes congestion, discharge and coughing.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands) remains the best treatment for sinus pain.
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and other brands, if you or your child have no contraindications to taking them, your pharmacist can confirm this) can also help with pain.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
If your symptoms persist for more than 7 days without improvement, you should see a doctor.
I hope I have been helpful, I remain available if you have any further questions
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
