What are the signs of infection in a wound or cellulitis?

32-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I have a small wound on my foot (1cmx3mm) and I'm not sure if it's starting to get infected or not and what to do. There is a white/yellow liquid covering the wound, but it is not really leaking. I am traveling in a very humid country with few (if any) materials at my disposal.

Hello,
the signs of infection of a wound are the following
-redness
-heat
-pain
-swelling
-purulent discharge.
As for the signs of infection of a cellulitis, we speak of
-localized redness (shiny skin)
-swelling of the skin (tension)
-sensation of heat
-pain
-may be accompanied by fever.
From your description, the yellowish liquid would be what is called devitalized tissue. Clean the wound well with soap and water, rinse it well, blot it dry. If you have with you or can get some, antibiotic polysporin to avoid an infection. Apply a dry dressing (bandage, for example) and wash your wound every day.
Check if the signs of infection are not increasing. If they are, a consultation should be arranged.
I hope I have answered your question!
