Does the aerochamber help with asthma pumps?

25 -year-old man2 years ago
Hi, my nephew uses an aerochamber with mask for his asthma pumps and I was told that when a mask is used, it limits the amount of medication reaching the lungs is that true? Should he be inhaling only once or several times when the mask is used? Thanks!

Hello,
On the contrary, the aerochamber, even with a mask, can increase the efficacy of inhalers. The aerochamber allows the particles to slow down after leaving the inhaler and decrease in size, allowing better deposition in the lower parts of his lungs.

Then he should be inhaling in the chamber for 10 seconds, and the adult should make sure that the valve moves back and forth.
Kind regards,
