I used my mom's sextoy (with condom) but I'm worried about STDs and I don't want to tell her about it. I disinfected afterwards. What should I do?

Hello. I wanted to send an email, because this is something I don't want to say over the phone. Basically I used my mother's sex toy. I've been in a relationship for 4 years and I haven't had sex with my boyfriend since the beginning of March. I'm really horny and to stimulate myself I really wanted to use her sex toy but the problem is that I'm afraid of STIs, even though I used a condom. I also cleaned it after and disinfected it.

Hello ma'am,
Since you used a condom on the sex toy, the risk of STI transmission is negligible. However, to avoid the risk of STIs, sharing sex toys is not a recommended practice.
The risk of catching an STI is therefore minimal in your case, but if you notice abnormal vaginal discharge or bleeding, genital lesions or fever or fatigue in the coming weeks, you can go to the hospital for a screening test.

Can I do one at a CLSC (I try to avoid hospitals as I live with an elderly person)?

Yes, CLSCs offer STI screening services. You can contact the CLSC in your area or visit this link for more information: https://santemontreal.qc.ca/population/services/depistage-du-vihsida-et-des-autres-itss/
