I have been taking estrogel 0.06% for 2 weeks. 1 pump in the morning. It does not work. How long should I wait before testing with 2 pumps?

Two weeks ago, I started a treatment with the drug estrogel 0.06% to counter my hot flashes. I take a pump every morning. It still does not work. How long should I wait before trying two pumps? Also, is it better to apply the gel in the morning or in the evening? When the gel is recommended to be applied on the arms, is it only on the inside of the arms or can it be applied on the whole arm? How long do I have to wait after applying the gel to do sports or take a shower? Thank you in advance for your answers.

hello,
first of all, you can use the product either in the morning or in the evening. The important thing is to take it regularly. Do what is best in your routine. The product can be applied to both arms (no matter which arm area), the abdomen or the inner side of both thighs. Do not apply the gel to the breasts. The important thing is to cover a large area to facilitate absorption (about 4 times the size of your hand). As for the shower, it would be better to take it before applying the product. Otherwise, I would say to leave at least 2 hours after application. For sport, if you intend to do intense sport early in the morning, I would suggest you to take the product in the evening because indeed the perspiration could make a little like water and make the product less effective.
As for the efficiency, we normally suggest to adjust the dose after 2 months of treatment since the effect is long to come. If the symptoms are very uncomfortable, you could however increase in 2 weeks to 2 pressures which is actually the standard dose for this product
Was it the doctor who suggested starting at a lower dose than the standard one?
i look forward to hearing from you,

Thank you for the comprehensive response, this is very helpful. I will make adjustments, I will take my dose in the evening to avoid problems caused by sports and showering! My doctor advised me one squeeze but the pharmacist told me that usually the gel is effective with 2 squeezes. I will wait a few more weeks before adjusting the dose if necessary.

if 1 squeeze is enough, it is better to use the smallest effective dose. if not, you can adjust the dose in a few weeks.
have a nice day
