Hello Mrs., A change in stool consistency and color can occur during an episode of illness. This does not necessarily indicate a problem as long as it is temporary. If there is blood, we usually see red or completely black stools (not dark or with pieces of different colors). I encourage you to monitor the situation for 7 to 10 days If your child has no other symptoms, monitoring should be sufficient.
