My daughter has a lot of secretions and coughs?

Hello, my 2 year old daughter has asthma and yesterday I went to a friend's house who had two dogs and a lot of hair... today my daughter is full of nasal secretions and coughs. Can the secretions be caused by this factor due to her asthma?

Hello, ma'am,
It is possible that asthma symptoms are triggered or worsened by 'triggers' such as allergens, for example if your daughter is allergic. Usually it goes away quickly if she is no longer exposed to the allergen.
If you ever suspect a dog allergy, and you are planning an outing to someone who has one, you can give her an antihistamine like Reactine 1 hour beforehand, that might help.
I hope I've been helpful, don't hesitate if there's anything

Thank you very much, in fact it was more the nasal mucus for which I was not sure that it was a sign of asthma, is there any test that exists to know the allergies like dogs?

Yes, this kind of test can be done by an allergist: you usually need a referral from your pediatrician, and the delays can be a bit long though.
People who suffer from asthma are more at risk of developing allergies, unfortunately.
If the antihistamine works, you can be a little more certain that it's allergies.
