Hello, I have been having very intense night sweats for quite some time now, especially during my period. Do you know what could be the cause of this? Is there anything I can do?
Thank you

Night sweats present during menstruation may have a hormonal origin, particularly estrogen. If the sweats started suddenly, with no specific identifiable cause, I would recommend that you discuss it with your doctor to clarify the cause.
Possible causes that are non-hormonal would be, for example: adding strenuous exercise before bed, stress, a room that is too warm (sheets that don't breathe as well, warmer pajamas). Starting a new contraceptive or medication could also explain night sweats.
In any case, a consultation with your doctor may help identify the source since treatment for night sweats depends greatly on the cause! Until then, wearing pajamas made of natural sheets such as cotton, cotton sheets and a well-ventilated room (keep a window open if possible) can help alleviate night sweats.
Happy day 🙂
