There is blood when I wipe myself after having a bowel movement. The blood is red. I have a little pain in my rectum when I have a bowel movement. What should I do?

I have episodes of constipation, so I've had pain before but never blood.

Hello!
Could you have hemorrhoids? Pain with bowel movements and clear blood on toilet paper can be signs of hemorrhoids. If the blood is small and clear, there is nothing to worry about. Also, hemorrhoids are often caused by constipation, so it is important to prevent and treat constipation.
For constipation, I suggest using Lax-A-Day, 17g 1 time a day. This product will soften the stool and it takes effect in 1 to 3 days. You may also want to increase your dietary fiber intake, fluid intake and increase your physical activity. This will also help reduce constipation.
For hemorrhoids, you could try applying Anusol ointment 2 times a day, morning and night, and after each bowel movement. This product is to be used as needed and should take effect in a short time.
If the problem persists despite using these products, you may want to consult a doctor, as if necessary, he or she can prescribe hemorrhoid medications not found over the counter.
