I know there are cases of Lyme disease in Monteregie. What should I look out for and/or when should I consult?

Hello, I went for a walk this morning at Mont St-Bruno (I also live in St-Bruno-de-Montarville). Tonight, when I took off my shirt, I noticed a rash whose center is a little swollen with a black spot in the center that I am unable to remove. It's about the size of a dollar coin. I have no pain or itching. I didn't see a tick as such, only like a stinger or splinter in the center.

Hello,
You can refer to the instructions in the following link to prevent tick bites:
  • Wear long clothes and cover yourself as best as possible.
  • Use a DEET or icaridin-based insect repellent. To do this, follow the instructions for using the insect repellent.
  • Choose to walk on trails.
  • Maintain the vegetation around your home, especially near children's play areas.
If you do get bitten by a tick, go to your pharmacy with the tick in a vial or bottle so that it can be identified as a tick. The pharmacist can prescribe an antibiotic to prevent Lyme disease UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
If you have the following symptoms, consult a doctor quickly
  • Fatigue;
  • Fever;
  • Headache;
  • Muscle and joint pain;
  • Stiffness in the neck.
I also suggest that you buy a tool to remove the tick properly if you get bitten. It is also available in pharmacies.
Hope to see you soon!
