Redness on a tattoo healing after four days. Is this a cause for concern?

Hello! Four days ago (Friday), I went to get some touch-ups on a tattoo. I notice persistent redness. I don't have the impression that the redness is getting bigger. Last time and with another tattoo, I didn't get redness like this. It was just following the lines and was gone after three days. I have a doctor's appointment in three days, which is Thursday. I thought I'd put in a good word for him. I'd like to know if this rash is a concern and if I should try to see him before Thursday (I might try Wednesday.) And what I can do in the meantime). Thank you so much!

Hello ma'am, do you have any other symptoms like pain or itching?

Hello!
As it's recent and the scaling is starting, I have a little itching, but really nothing abnormal (like any tattoo that heals). No pain, no fever, no sick feeling. I don't see any pus either.
I also contacted the tattoo parlor and they tell me it's irritation, but to keep watching it.
It's less red today.

After a day of work (so before my shower). Redness less present.

I'll come and give you some news if you ever come back here. :)
I decided to wash my tattoo a bit more the last few days. I didn't change anything else. The redness is much less present and disappears more and more.

Thank you for the information, I am so sorry for the delay in my response, I had not seen the notification!
I would suggest applying a fragrance free moisturizer like Aveeno as needed for the itching, you can apply it as often as needed. I also suggest, if you haven't already done so, to avoid using soap or cleanser on the area and use only water. After the shower, lightly pat the skin instead of rubbing it and apply the cream quickly afterwards.
If possible, I suggest wearing cotton underwear and loose clothing to let the skin breathe.
If the situation persists for more than 2 weeks without improvement, I suggest consulting a doctor as a precaution.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
