Can clotrimazole cream increase my redness?

I have a rash in the nasolabial fold near my mouth. It's a red patch that has been there for a few weeks and it doesn't itch. It doesn't happen often but I thought it might be caused by saliva while sleeping. I consulted a pharmacist who suggested I take Clotrimazole cream from Personnelle for 10 days twice a day.
