What are the risks of starting aspirin early in a pregnancy vs. the benefits? Is 160 mg a high dose? Thank you!

29-year-old womana year ago
Hello ! I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and will not have a follow-up with my gynecologist until 12 weeks of pregnancy. At my last pregnancy they suspected a growth delay and delivered me at 37 weeks with a 5.6 lbs baby. Following this, my gynecologist prescribed aspirin (2 co of 80 mg HS) for the next pregnancy. However, I am hesitant to start it because I heard that there could be a risk of miscarriage if I start it too early.

Unless your doctor has informed you to start it, it is indeed preferable to wait for the appointment to properly assess your needs.
