How long does it take to get pregnant after removing the sterilet? Can antidepressants (escitalopram) harm? Conception, pregnancy and baby?

My boyfriend and I are thinking of starting trials to have a baby in the next few months and I am currently on the sterilet kyleena for birth control and have been taking escitalopram for the past year for anxiety. I'm wondering if the sterilet and my medication can affect the conception, the pregnancy and the baby.

Hello, the return to fertility varies from one person to another. It can take up to a year for some people. However, you should know that the average time to fall is about 6 months, so the sterilet does not change the situation so much.
As for cipralex, more and more women are using this product during pregnancy. Although the monitoring needs to be a little different, not treating the anxiety may be more harmful to the baby. It is best to use the lowest dose that works for you and discuss it with your doctor.
I look forward to hearing from you

Great, thank you very much! However, I haven't had a family doctor in a few months. What should I do at this point?

You will need to make an appointment to have your sterilet removed first. Try calling 811.
Then the pharmacist can prescribe a prenatal vitamin for the period of conception
Once you are pregnant, you can make calls to the different family medicine units in the hospitals and clinics in your area to see if a doctor can take over the monitoring of your pregnancy.
The pharmacist can also accompany you during the different stages.
