Should I go back to see a doctor because my symptoms have returned and I haven't finished the antibiotics yet?

Hello! 9 days ago, I was diagnosed with strep throat, I started my antibiotics (penicillin) and the symptoms almost all disappeared in 2 days. However, even though I continued the medication, my symptoms came back on the 7th day (some white spots on my tonsils, tonsils still very swollen, difficulty/pain to swallow, fatigue and slight earache, sore throat) and it doesn't seem to want to go away. Should I go back to the doctor or wait since I just had penicillin (I have 1 day of antibiotics left until tomorrow)

I thought it was a cold, but I'm not congested

Good morning, ma'am,
A cold or viral infection can often start with the symptoms you described. The resistance of streptococcus to penicillin is almost nil :)
I suggest waiting and monitoring your symptoms, if they ever go beyond 5-7 days or get worse, indeed you will need to see a doctor again.
Having said that, have you done a rapid test for COVID?

Ohh that makes me feel better if it doesn't resist to penicillin! For the covid yes I did a test, it was negative!
i will continue to monitor my symptoms and reconsult within the time frame you suggest if needed then, thank you very much!
