I am 14 days late in my period when I am usually regular (I follow my period with the app flo)

I have a 14 day delay in my period, I had a few days of very weak spotting but it was not consecutive and not abundant enough to be my period. All the pregnancy tests I have done are negative (first response, clear blue, strip, etc). Should I consult my family doctor?

I forgot to mention that I am not on any contraception and that I have had unprotected sex. I am also very overweight, but it has never affected my period. My cousin has polycystic fibrosis, so I'm worried that it could be that if I'm not pregnant.

Hello ma'am, have you had or gone through an episode of illness or vaccination, stress, fatigue, change of schedule or other recently?

Hello, not necessarily.

Thank you for the information, I'm sorry for the delay in my reply, I hadn't seen the notification!
A delay can occur without indicating any problems, for example following an episode of illness (or vaccination), stress, fatigue, change of schedule or even without any detectable reason.
The appearance and volume of your period may also fluctuate over time, and you may have even mentioned spotting. In the absence of other symptoms and with a negative pregnancy test, just monitor the situation. If this happens again next month as well, I suggest consulting a doctor as a precaution.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
