Hello, My grandson has to take Valcyte because of CMV . The first prescription was given by the hospital pharmacy and reimbursed by the Medical Insurance.

Hello, ma'am,
Did you ask the pharmacy that served the product and then your insurance company? Did you take the brand name product (Valcyte) or the generic? Your insurer may not cover as much if it is the brand name product for example.
If you upload a picture of your complete invoice, I could take a look at it, or if not, you'll have to check with your insurer and the pharmacy.

Hello, unfortunately the insurer is closed until August 8. Do you know if this medication requires a special form to be completed?

There is no generic

Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed there is no generic for the oral suspension. The drug is listed as an 'exception drug', which means that the prescriber usually has to fill out a form and send it to the insurer to justify the use of this drug.
Generally in this type of situation, the insurer will have to send you this form and the prescriber will have to fill it out afterwards.

Ahhh that's what I would think. So, the CHUL infectious disease specialist must complete the form and send it to the Medic. See attached

This is the RAMQ form, your insurer may have a different one
