How do I get Tramacet which is discontinued and only generics are available?

Hello, My doctor has prescribed an exceptional medication. I am unable to find it at Jean Coutu, Brunet, Pharmaprix, Pharma, Uniprix, Proxim. I am looking for TRAMACET 37.5mg/ACETAMINOPHEN 325mg. I received a quote from Quebec Pharmacy for 180 co. ($219.50)

I know that JANSSEN no longer manufactures this tablet since September 2020 (I joined them). I had to do many tests before FINDING THE ANALGESIC that would be effective in my case (chronic pain). I have been using it for six years and I manage not to exaggerate the dose because it is the analgesic that controls my pain.
Should I accept the offer of Quebec Pharmacy and advise me...

Hello, thank you for your question!
the brand name drug Tramacet has been discontinued by the manufacturer. However, there are generics that contain the same active ingredients and whose manufacturers have respected the same Health Canada standards as for the brand name products
As for Quebec pharmacy, I could not find any information, would you have a link to share with me?

Of course. Here is the link : [email protected]
I know that the generics contain the active ingredient of the manufacturer Janssen, what I have a problem with is the filling that the companies put in and that is different from one company to another.
Some of the generic drugs were causing me side effects not caused by the originals and the problem was in what was added other than the active molecule.
I would like to know if you have any information on Quebec Pharmacy and if you could provide me with information on the credibility of this site.

Hello, thank you for your feedback!
I think you might have sent me an email link?
On the other hand, I would like to reassure you about the non-active ingredients: Both the brand name and the generics contain them, and they are very similar in most cases. You and your pharmacist could even compare the list of non-active ingredients in the brand name and the generic. Here, I could even do it with you if you want :)

Of course, I accept.

I looked at the monographs for the brand name drug, and the generic Apotex. The pharmacokinetic data (how much drug is absorbed by your body, for example) is the same. Both have the same dyes and almost the same non-active ingredients, with a few minor differences
If you are unsure, you may want to get a small amount of the generic, such as 10 or 20 tablets, to check the tolerance. It should be very similar to your tolerance to the brand name Tramacet. If not, don't worry, there are many other options for pain.
I hope I've been helpful, please don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
