I am starting to have allergies to my dog. I don't want to get rid of it. I have a golden doodle that should be somewhat hypoallergenic.
I have a runny nose and a bit of a stinging throat.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Usually, one of the two should be enough, but Reactin is more recommended because it works over 24 hours and is less likely to cause drowsiness than Benadryl.
If Reactin is not enough, you can try switching to another anti-histamine such as Claritin or Aerius, or even add a corticosteroid nasal spray such as Flonase, Mosaspray or Nasacort, which are safe, effective, and available without a prescription.
Nasal hygiene with a saline solution, such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse, is also a very good solution to avoid the accumulation of secretions in the sinuses and throat.
I hope I've been helpful, so don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
