Can another molecule be considered? And is there a correlation between tinnitus and Wellbutrin?

Tinnitus. Onset of tinnitus possibly coincides with the start of medication (bupropion). Possible aggravating factor?

Hello,
Tinnitus is often idiopathic, but can also be caused by various reasons. An obstruction in the ear canal, trauma, or aging are just a few examples.
Wellbutrin is not known to be a drug that is toxic to the ear. However, tinnitus has been reported in the drug monograph. So it is not impossible that it is an aggravating factor, considering the onset of your symptom with the start of the medication. You may want to tell your doctor and try lowering the dose of Wellbutrin to see if it helps your tinnitus. If it does, you may want to consider another treatment option if the lowered dose of Wellbutrin is not effective for you.
I look forward to hearing from you,
