Can a pharmacist prescribe Newman Ointment?

34-year-old womana year ago
Hello , I may have chapped breasts because I am breastfeeding my daughter. I had a prescription in the past but it is no longer valid and the pharmacist told me that he can't do anything. Does a collective prescription exist?

Good morning, ma'am,
Pharmacists cannot prescribe Newman formula, as many of the ingredients require a prescription following a medical evaluation to rule out other causes and to properly assess the infant's condition.
In addition, there is no directory of pharmacies offering group prescriptions, so it is impossible to know if and where this product is on a group prescription.
If the lanolin ointment (Lansinoh) is ineffective, a physician should be consulted.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
