Can a 7 year old who has been vaccinated against chicken pox still get it? If so, is he or she contagious?

Hello Ma'am,
This is not impossible, indeed. If chickenpox-like lesions appear, these lesions are just as contagious if the child was previously vaccinated.
It should be known that this type of vaccination greatly increases the chances of never contracting the disease, but it is not a 100% guarantee. So there are situations, like the one you seem to be describing, where the vaccinated person still gets the disease.
