Is it normal for a 7-month-old baby to gasp for air sometimes when excited?

36-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I have two situations: first situation: my almost 7 month old daughter seems to be "gasping for air" sometimes. A few times a day she has difficulty catching her breath when she plays. Should I investigate with her doctor? Second situation: I noticed this morning a tiny blue/purple spot on the tip of her tongue. I rubbed it with a clean cloth, it doesn't seem to hurt, it looks like a tiny bruise. She bites her tongue a lot, I think it could be that since she is teething?

Hello ma'am,
For your second question, yes it is possible that it is secondary to your baby biting his tongue. In the absence of other symptoms such as apparent pain, fever or other, just monitor the situation.
For the first question, this requires an in-person evaluation and is beyond what can be addressed on this platform, I invite you to discuss this with his pediatrician.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
