Is it possible to put a boric acid suppository continuously in the vagina to control odor, without the presence of a yeast infection?

I know that odor is normal, but I have heard that regular boric acid has been proven to help reduce vaginal odor. I don't have an infection, no fishy smell or anything... just normal vaginal odor that I would like to control. I have 2 partners so I wash more often and I feel like the odor comes back faster because of the frequent soap/shower.

Good morning, Mrs,
I would like to reassure you that a certain odor does not necessarily indicate a problem, especially if you have already consulted a doctor about it and a problem has been ruled out.
Odor is analogous to perspiration, and can depend on the time of day, diet, daily activities (e.g. sweating), and can even vary through the menstrual cycle.
The first thing to focus on is non-pharmacological measures, if this has not been tried:
  • Ensure basic hygiene with water. If soap is desired, I suggest a mild, fragrance-free soap, such as the Dove stick, which can be used all over the body, including the outside of the vagina. Vagisil products and douches should be avoided.
  • I suggest wearing clothes that are not tight and allow for breathing, such as cotton clothes and underwear.
If there has been a recent change in odor, and/or any other new symptoms, it would be prudent to consult a physician.
I hope this has been helpful, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!
