Can my child's cough last that long after pneumonia?

My 16 month old finished his antibiotics for pneumonia this Saturday. He is still coughing, and yesterday he took a 4.5 hour nap! He has less energy, but hasn't had a fever since the antibiotics ended.

Yes, it can take some time to fully recover. The cough is often the last symptom to go away, several weeks after recovery itself.

Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids in particular, and I encourage nasal hygiene as a maintenance treatment as well.
