The basis of the treatment will be moisturizing the skin and other non-pharmacological measures:
A fragrance-free moisturizer such as Aveeno, Cutibase, Base Glaxal, Cerave and others should be applied as often as needed. The cream should be applied at least 3 times a day and before and after each outing, winter or summer.
Avoid using soaps or cleansers on the face for the next few weeks. Clean water is sufficient, and no more than twice a day.
After the bath or shower, avoid vigorous rubbing of the skin: instead, lightly pat the skin to leave a thin layer of moisture, then apply moisturizer within 5 minutes after getting out of the bath.
In winter, make sure to protect the skin with a neck warmer or scarf, and a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher in summer.
If non-pharmacological measures are insufficient, you should consult a physician for a thorough evaluation of your needs.
