Are there any consultations? All the walk-ins are full for the day, I wonder if it is worth going to the emergency room?

Hello, my daughter fell on Wednesday at the end of pm at the daycare, she is 18 months old. Of course she fell on the corner of a wooden sandbox. So this morning she has a black eye, it's worse than Wednesday night. But she doesn't seem to have any pain on her side. I have pictures I could provide you with if possible.

Good morning Madam,
In general, the emergency would not be necessary if the child's general condition is not altered or if she does not present other symptoms such as fever, sensitivity of the eye to light and intense pain in the eye. Following a bruise, a change in color is normal over the next few days during healing. Generally, it may take about 10-14 days for the bruise to disappear. It is important to monitor the evolution of the symptoms (increase in pain, increase in swelling, spreading redness, etc.) over the next 2-3 days and to consult a physician if this is the case.
Here are some tips for the eye in the meantime:
  • Cold compresses to decrease inflammation and improve comfort in the eye
  • Tylenol to reduce pain
  • Avoid touching the affected area
Feel free to contact me again if you have any further questions!
Thank you for your time!
