Is there a link between covid infection and the menstrual cycle?

28-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I am late in my menstrual cycle (5 days), I am always irregular in my cycle (between 28-33 days, currently I am on day 34). I did a pregnancy test and it was negative. I feel all the same symptoms as usual (lower stomach pain, pimples, moodiness, loss before blood) but menstruation does not come. One day before my period was supposed to start, I developed covid. I have read that this can disrupt the cycle, is this the case? Also, can stress throw me off? I am very anxious and the absence of my period stresses me out a lot. It's like a never ending wheel, the less it happens the more I think about it and the more my stress increases.

Good morning, Mrs,
Indeed, the menstrual cycle can undergo small disturbances following an episode of illness or vaccination, stress, fatigue or change of schedule, or even without any detectable reason. However, this is temporary and will go away on its own.
I hope to have reassured you, and remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,

Hello,
thank you very much for your quick answer.
should i expect to menstruate soon or will it be ok in my next cycle?

It's impossible to say, but it's very likely that your period will occur during the current cycle.
