Is there blood when I blow my nose?

I tested positive for covid last Friday. I have secretions coming down my throat, so I do the sinus rinse. I blow my nose afterwards and there is blood. Should I stop the sinus rinse? Why is there blood?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
Blowing your nose can irritate the mucous membranes, especially if it is done often and with force. If possible, I suggest blowing your nose with a little less intensity, and the same goes for the Sinus Rinse: a light to moderate pressure on the bottle is enough.
On the other hand, if the air is dry, a humidifier could help.
Finally, there are saline sprays and gels if your mucous membranes are irritated, they can be applied as often as necessary.
I hope I've been of some help to you, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

I do not blow my nose, all my secretions go down my throat. I use the sinus rinse 2 times a day with moderate intensity. Can I buy saline gels without a prescription? How do I know that my mucous membranes are irritated?

Yes, gels are available over the counter near the Sinus Rinse :)
One way to know if the mucous membranes are irritated and bleeding after blowing your nose.
