My 22 month old son has yellowish/green discharge coming out of his eyes. Everything looks like conjunctivitis. Is there an over the counter cream that could help with the healing?

Hello, thank you for your question!
Would it be possible to know if your child has had any cold symptoms recently, such as a stuffy or runny nose? Are the secretions colored all day long or only at certain times, for example when waking up?

Yes, my child has been showing symptoms of colds recently and even now he has a stuffy nose. The secretions are colored all day long. Sometimes only white and other times yellowish

Thanks for the clarification!
These secretions are often associated with a respiratory tract infection such as a cold. It is as if the cold has ''gone up'' in the eyes. For this purpose, no antibiotic is necessary because it is ineffective against a virus. Polysporin has the annoying habit of increasing the redness...
Non-pharmacological measures are favored: artificial tears such as Systane Ultra, Refresh Tears or others, and the application of a wet towel for cleaning as needed, taking care not to share the towel and to wash your hands before and after.
You should see improvement within 5-7 days, if not, you will need to see a doctor, as a precaution.
I hope I have been helpful to you, and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
