What can I do about the patches on my daughter's chin?

36-year-old womana year ago
Plaques on the chin My 2 year old daughter has been having patches on her chin for about 3 months. Two months ago, the pharmacist advised me to use hydrocortisone twice a day, morning and evening, plus moisturizer. The patches are fading but not going away. I consulted her family doctor 1 month ago and he prescribed another cortisone cream a little stronger, also to be applied twice a day, and also advised me to put moisturizing cream. We put twice a day the cortisone cream and at least 6 times a day moisturizing cream without perfume. Result: 1 month later, the patches are still diminishing but not going away. They fade and come back in force for some reason. Note that it is not impedigo, nor the foot hand mouth (that she already had 2 times) and that it is the only place on her body where it appears.

Hello ma'am, are the plaques caused by salivation or rubbing? Does your child wear a bib?
Have you noticed any triggers for the patches?

She salivates a little because she has canines that have grown up and an incisor down lately (they are almost completely out) but it is not abundant at all. She does not wear a bib.
I must admit that her plates bother her and that she licks them by sticking out her tongue on occasion. She also still puts a lot of things in her mouth (other teeth? Stimulation?)
As far as triggers go, I have absolutely no idea. Nothing in her diet has changed, it's not the cold, nor the soap I use to wash her. We were on vacation so no stress factors..
We are very diligent about applying moisturizer. We use the baby owl soothing repair balm. We have been using this cream since he was born and it has always worked like a charm but now it doesn't work anymore. I started using the glaxal base last night because my niece has eczema and very very patchy skin and this is what her doctor recommended. I will see the results to see if it changes anything.... To be continued ..

Thanks for the information!
You did well with the moisturizers you tried, I would have opted for one of them. In all honesty you seem to already be doing what is usually recommended and are well aware of her situation. I agree with you in assessing whether the change to Glaxal Base will work. Keep in mind that you can apply it as often as needed, there is no maximum number of times during the day.
I am always available if there is anything!
