What to do about mushrooms on the tongue?

21-year-old woman3 years ago
For the past month, I have had fungus on my tongue that appeared following an antibiotic I took for a vaginal infection. Is there anything I can do other than gargle my mouth with water mixed with baking soda?

Hello, thank you for your question!
If it is really fungus, only a pharmacological treatment will be effective to get rid of it. However, if you have never had this problem before, and/or a medical prescription, you will need to consult a doctor or a dentist to get the right diagnosis and treatment. It would be important to consult especially considering the problem that has persisted for several weeks.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful at this time.
Sincerely
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
