An insect bite can indeed cause this kind of swelling. The important thing is that it remains light and temporary. Applying a cool water towel several times a day and preventing the baby from scratching are the best ways to reduce this swelling, if it is secondary to the bite
If the swelling persists for more than a week, I would advise consulting a doctor as a precaution.
