My question is: is this molecule safe during breastfeeding for the baby? Thank you!

Hello, I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. I have been taking citalopram 20mg for about 7 years. I started this week to decrease my dose to 10mg in preparation for delivery after discussion with my doctor. I don't necessarily want to stop it, I have tried a few times in the past without success.

Hello,
Although citalopram passes in very small quantities into breast milk, it remains a relatively safe choice. I say "relatively" because the data concerning its use in breastfeeding are not numerous. However, according to the few studies that are available, the product appears to be safe during breastfeeding. One of the most studied molecules in breastfeeding is sertraline
