My question is can she take all of these in combination? Is Novalgin a painkiller with too many side effects?

Hello! Me and my girlfriend are in Senegal. We were prescribed azythromycin before our departure to treat traveler's diarrhea. My girlfriend is bothered by tourista, but in an abnormal way. She has huge cramps that she says are as painful as giving birth. I went to the local pharmacy, they gave me ciprofloxacin for the diarrhea, Novalgin for the stomach ache (sodium metamizole) and hydration packets at my request, because she can hardly ingest anything without cramps or going to the bathroom instantly.

Hello Sir, I am sorry to read about your troubles!
If ciprofloxacin was prescribed, you will need to re-evaluate the appropriateness of azithromycin as the combination is not indicated. You will also need to check with your pharmacist or the person who gave it to you to see if there are any interactions with what they normally take.
As Novalgin is not a product marketed in Canada, I could not provide you with adequate information on its use, you will have to ask the person who gave it to you.
Finally, there is no maximum for the hydration packets, just follow the right dilution and go very gradually.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
