I have been positive for COVID for 4 days and since then I have been sensitive to light and screens. My eyes hurt. What can I do to relieve this and should I be worried?

Hello ma'am, would it be possible to know how many days ago you tested positive for COVID?
Do you wear contact lenses?
Do you have any other symptoms such as eye discharge, nasal congestion or discharge, sinus pressure?

Hello my positive test was on Friday so it's been 4 days. A little bit of congestion but no runny eyes or nose, pressure sensation in the sinuses yes. I wear glasses yes but I can't stand them right now

Thanks for the feedback, two last questions, do you have red eyes, and have you noticed a decrease in vision?
29-year-old woman · 2 years ago
Not the red eyes and for the decrease of the vision I do not think but when my eyes hurt my vision is less clear but it does not last all day.

Thanks for the information!
In this case I recommend the use of artificial tears (Refresh Tears, Blink, Systane Ultra for example) to relieve the irritation, as well as warm compresses that can be used as often as desired during the day.
If you do not notice an improvement within 7 days or if the situation worsens, you should consult me as soon as the recommended isolation period has expired.
I will be available if you have any further questions!

Could the COVID have caused me to develop sinusitis, which would explain the pressure I feel in my forehead, eyes, cheeks and nose?
Naji-tom Samaha · 2 years ago
The symptoms of COVID and sinusitis can be quite similar. That being said, sinus congestion can cause this feeling of pressure. To this end, nasal hygiene with saline solution can help and should be performed as often as necessary during the day.
