My 1 week old baby seems to spit up often, is this normal?

32-year-old womana year ago
Hello, we have a new baby born on November 18th at 35.6 weeks old. Tomorrow he will be one week old. Since about two days he started to regurgitate about 1-2 hours after his feeding. Tonight he regurgitated a good mouthful and it was a yellow color.

Hello ma'am, many congratulations :)!
Although the situation can be quite unpleasant, it does not necessarily indicate a problem. Regurgitation, as long as it is not vomiting, is very common and does not necessarily indicate a problem.
Keep in mind that your baby basically has to learn to digest on his or her own, and that it's not easy.
As long as your baby is wetting and soiling his or her diaper and gaining weight, there is no need to worry.
First and foremost, try measures to reduce the risk and frequency of spit-up:
  • Be sure to use a "1" nipple, as higher numbers are bigger and can result in the baby "gulping";
  • Interrupt feedings often to pass gas, at least 3 times;
  • Give smaller amounts at a time, even if it means giving more often;
  • Avoid changing the baby's position after feeding and do not put her down for 20 minutes.

I hope I have been helpful to you, I remain available if you have any other questions
