Intergluteal irritation / allergic reaction? Since I have been using cotton wipes I have had some irritation, I have stopped, but I feel a line of irritation from the anus to the back and this morning there was blood... Since a month ago, the skin behind (plus the interfessial fold) has split a little? Just since one day. i went to see the pharmacist yesterday and he suggested me some canestan cream (in case it's fungal) and a hydrocortisone cream (to be tested for 1 week and to be applied 2x a day) .... If it doesn't work, he suggested that I consult my doctor.. for the moment I don't have any more irritation but the zone remains sensitive..

Good morning, ma'am. When did you first notice this? Is the blood coming from the anus or the skin around it? Have you tried anything for this problem? Is it a constant reaction or is it a one time thing? Thank you for the information, I am sorry for the delay in my response, I had not seen the notification! While not questioning your pharmacist's decision, I would have been inclined to suggest an ointment or paste to protect the area from friction and moisture such as Triad Hydrophile or Zincofax extra strength (available without prescription). I also suggest for the next few days to avoid soaps and to lightly tap the skin to dry it instead of rubbing it, then to apply the paste quickly after getting out of the shower.
