What can I do to drain the water and is it normal for the water to go to my ears?

Hello, I have had a cold for 4 days now so I tried the sinus rinse to avoid sinusitis. I felt water going into my ears. It has been a few hours and now my ears hurt.

hello, I don't see the part where I mention that I have water in my ears following a sinus rinse. So let me explain, I have had a cold for 4 days so I decided to do a sinus rinse and I felt water coming into my ears. It didn't hurt at first but now a few hours later I wake up with earaches. How do I get the water out that is causing me this pain?

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about your troubles!
Considering the situation, I would suggest avoiding Sinus Rinse in the first place for now. A saline spray such as Salinex or rhinaris should be used as often as necessary during the day and avoid blowing your nose too vigorously.
I also suggest the valsalva maneuver: take a deep breath then pinch your nostrils and close your lips as if blowing into a balloon, then pretend you are going to breathe out of both your nostrils and mouth (while keeping them closed), 1 to 2 times a day.
If the situation persists for more than 3 days without improvement, I suggest consulting a doctor as a precaution.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
