My baby has pimples on his body after having a fever, what should I do, is it dangerous for the fetus if I catch it?

Hello. Friday my 27 month old baby started to have a fever (38.8 rectal). The next day, he started to have small red pimples on his thighs and he said he had a sore mouth (I can't see anything wrong with it). This morning, no more fever, but today he starts to have more pimples, around his mouth, cheeks, behind his arms, on his legs and buttocks. I am 25 weeks pregnant. I'm wondering what it is and if I should get him a covid test because of the fever. Also, if it's a contagious disease, we'll be careful about our contact with other children...we're on vacation away from home, so it's a little difficult to go to the clinic and I wonder if it would be necessary anyway.

Hello ma'am,
It is difficult to establish the exact cause of this on this platform, especially since many childhood skin conditions can present this.
The most important thing will be to monitor his overall condition. If he remains well, only apply a fragrance-free moisturizer as often as needed during the day. Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Tempra and other brands) can be given if he has pain.
If the marks persist for more than a week without improvement or worsen, a doctor should be consulted as a precaution.
Finally, I would like to point out that some conditions should be avoided by pregnant women. Therefore I suggest avoiding close contact and washing hands and surfaces often.
I hope I have been helpful, I remain available if you have further questions
