What can I do to reduce the congestion, ear pain and vomiting?

27-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I have nasal congestion but no mucus coming out. I have an ear that seems to be "clogged", irritation in my throat and I have little vomiting from time to time. I do sinus rinses about 2 times a day.

Hello!
In order to answer you better I have some questions:
  1. How long have you been sick?
  2. Fever?
  3. Is the vomiting related to secretions in the throat or coughing?
  4. Headaches and/or pressure in the face and/or pain in the teeth?
  5. Have you tried anything to relieve the pain?
  6. Are you taking any medication or suffering from any health problems?
  7. Allergies?
  8. Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?
I am waiting for your answers!

Hello!
  1. I have been sick for about 5 days
  2. i had two episodes of fever on day 1 and 2
  3. yes since yesterday I don't vomit anymore because of coughing
  4. headaches at the frontal level
  5. i took tylenol to reduce the fever and advil for the headaches (no simultaneous medication). I have also done Sinus Rinse to try to clear my sinuses except that more often than not, my heart gets up when I do it.
  6. No medication, I have been known to have migraines with them but the last one was in July
  7. No allergies
  8. No pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Thank you!

Hello!
You could try taking decongestants like Tylenol sinus or Advil sinus. This may help with the congestion and headaches. Also, if the cough is due to nasal discharge in the throat, that might help too. You can continue the sinus rinse.
If the cough is too uncomfortable, you can combine it with a DM cough syrup. However, if you have difficulty breathing or pain in your chest or back, it would be better to consult a doctor. If you have a history of asthma, the syrup would not be recommended.
**CAUTION, some syrups and cold tablets may contain more than one similar medication. Avoid duplicating ingredients. I recommend that you ask at the pharmacy to be sure. Personally, I prefer to recommend the cough syrup and the decongestant separately so that you can take them as needed depending on the evolution of your symptoms. However, it is possible to take a tablet that contains all of these together.
I advise you to consult a doctor if the nasal congestion and sinus pain do not improve after 7 days (since the beginning of the symptoms, i.e. in 2 days for you) because it is possible that an antibiotic against sinusitis will be prescribed. Sinusitis is often viral and usually gets better without treatment. However, if the symptoms do not improve in 1 week, it is possible that it is bacterial and at that time the antibiotic can help. You should also consult if the cough persists after 3 weeks.
I hope this is helpful to you,
