What to give my 3 year old daughter who has a cough?

Hello, my 3 year old daughter has a little cough virus. She coughs quite a bit, but after checking it's viral so nothing to do. She sometimes complains of a sore throat after the coughing fit. Yes, nasal congestion! I give her lots of water and rub her with a little vick's at bedtime. But she cries with pain during the coughing fit. She had a swab for strep but no news.

Hello ma'am, Does she have any other symptoms such as a stuffy or runny nose, even a little? Have you tried anything for this problem? Thanks for the feedback! The best treatment is nasal hygiene with a saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. If she is not blowing her nose, the use of a nasal spray is highly recommended. Encourage her to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, depending on her preference. A teaspoon of honey can also help relieve the cough. Tylenol or Tempra can help relieve pain if she has it. I hope I have been helpful, I am still available if you have any other questions!
