Hello,
A migraine can be triggered by one or more factors. Here are some examples:
  • Lifestyle: lack or excess of sleep, stress, menstruation, intense physical exercise, irregular meal schedule
  • Food: alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, fermented products, foods rich in tyramine
  • Environmental: loud noises and smells, weather changes, bright lights
  • Medication: hormonal contraceptives, SSRIs, opioids
Each person will have their own triggers, so it is important to identify them in order to better prevent episodes. Migraines are a chronic condition, but it is possible to reduce their frequency and severity by modifying one's lifestyle or by starting a medication.
Hopefully this answers your question,
