Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, hormonal birth control could be to blame. As you did, we'll try a break from the contraceptive to see if the magnitude of the symptoms decreases. If it does, we can try taking the contraceptive again, but if the symptoms return, we may have a better idea of the cause and effect relationship. If so, your pharmacist/caregiver can contact the prescriber for alternatives.

If, however, the bleeding (or pain) persists, even 4 weeks after stopping the contraceptive, I would suggest seeing a doctor to evaluate the situation.
