What can I do to stop the cough and lower the fever?

The best treatment for fever is acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands). This will also help relieve headaches

It is also suggested that you drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot depending on your preference

I strongly suggest nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce their backward flow, which often causes coughing. It's a bit unpleasant but it works very well!
