What can I take to relieve heartburn?

I often have unexplained heartburn. I vary my diet and I don't take any medication. It happens to me after meals as well as during a day when I don't eat much. Great thanks for the information! It's been going on for about 2 years now...I'm a little tired of having this randomly. I went to the pharmacy and got some pepcid for a little longer action. I'm going to see how well the medication works.
